Refresh: 19 ways to boost your spiritual life

Here are some comments from early readers of the book:
“Basing his thoughts on refreshingly told Bible stories, Ron Hughes has called us back to the basics of a walk with God... A joy to read, a challenge to do and a privilege to experience.” Jim Allen, Global Pastor, HCJB Global
“I found Ron's book to be inspiring, encouraging and motivating, and his writing style especially easy to follow. This is a book for ordinary people who desire to become extraordinary by being more like Jesus, and I highly recommend it.” Sue Augustine, best-selling author and speaker
“This book is refreshing and clear, like pure, cool water on a hot day. If you're thirsty to go deeper with God, I warmly commend this work to you.” Gregg Harris, President, Far East Broadcasting Company
This is an important, practical and unique book, that will, if you work through the 19 ways to boost your spiritual life, make a huge difference to the way you enjoy your life in Christ... I am happy to recommend it with enthusiasm. Dr. David Humphreys, Emeritus Professor, McMaster University, Canada.

Here's a note from Wendy in Victor Harbor, Australia:
And another one from Ian, in Hamilton, Ontario.
I really like the format of the book. Each section is helpful. The Bible story at the beginning of each chapter (told in the first person!) is a great introduction. It shows the "real-ness" of the spiritual activity as it places in the life of real people in the Bible. I like the clear explanation of "What we're talking about" and the selected Bible verses to lay a strong foundation are also helpful.

Well I've only read one chapter so far. And re-read it. Not because the book is hard to read, but because already chapter 1 on Solitude has been a challenge to my heart. It's making me think. Which is a good thing, but not an easy thing. I can already tell that finding that solitude is going to be key in my spiritual refreshment. So I'm going to give myself some time to work through the book and not read it as I would normally - in 1 or 2 sittings. But it's not because it's a boring book to read. On the contrary, I'm finding it challenging and intriguing and enjoying it a lot already. So for that reason, my reviews will be ongoing and not just one review at the end! Thanks Ron for a great tool in my walk with the Lord!

We are using "Refresh" as our study book for the ladies at the chapel. There is always good discussion at the study session. From the comments made I know that most of the ladies are reading the chapter and doing the work. More importantly we are challenged to make changes in our life which will leave us truly refreshed. Thank you for the study pages. They are a big help keeping us focused on the topic.
