African English

In 1994, the director of Trans World Radio, Africa, put before us the challenge of producing a program for Africa, made in Africa. We responded by developing a system to achieve this goal. The 15 minute program is aired from Trans World Radio’s shortwave transmitters in Manzini Swaziland.

Lord, I Believe

Ambrose NyangaoOur producer, Ambrose Nyangao, was saved during his teen years and commenced ministry almost immediately in the area of youth, music and school outreach.

His involvement with Trans World Radio began in the 1980s and he has served as the FBH program presenter since the beginning. He is the longest serving Bible teacher working in TWR’s Nairobi studios.

Each week, Ambrose selects scripts from our FBH archive and adapts examples and illustrations with sensitivity to cultural issues. The finished program is then delivered in the style and accent which is most familiar to our African audience.

Winnie OnyimboWorking with Ambrose in program production is Winnie Onyimbo. Winnie serves as producer, announcer and engineer. It is her job to make sure that each program is prepared on time.

Winnie began working with TWR Kenya as a teenager. She has served in the studios for close to seven years. During that time, she also spent time in South Africa where she studied radio production.

As well as introducing the program, Winnie closes each broadcast by inviting listeners to contact the TWR Kenya office for personal contact or follow-up materials.

We trust you'll be encouraged to hear the results of Ambrose's and Winnie's work in the studio.
